The arrival of spring should push us to get out of the hibernation condition in which the winter months have dragged us. Yet it can happen that with the beginning of the summer the strokes of sleep become more frequent.
Spring fatigue is a widespread and normal phenomenon, a sort of vent of fatigue accumulated during the winter, but for some fatigue can become chronic and cause difficulty concentrating and irritability.
A solution that is not always simple
Although finding yourself struggling with fatigue is normal, not everyone can deal with it in the same way. If in many cases the problem tends to resolve itself, for someone to adapt to the change of season can be more difficult and sleep problems can be more intense.
The sense of tiredness can also be accentuated by the arrival of allergies, the difficulty in adapting to new rhythms and the consequences of an unbalanced diet. The latter can in fact lead to nutritional deficiencies that expose you to a greater risk of malaise. Neglecting the problem can make it worse. But how to deal with it effectively?
Not only rest
To combat fatigue it is good to first dedicate time to rest. Precisely because you are coming out of winter carrying all its load of worries it is good to give the body the opportunity to relax. After all, he himself asks for it through sleep strokes. For the same reason it is good to intersperse the hours of work with moments of break.
Resting does not only mean sleeping: it is also important to dedicate part of the day to taking care of yourself. In this way, both physical fatigue and stress and irritability will be combated.
On the other hand, keeping physically active also helps fight spring fatigue. It only takes 30 minutes a day of light physical activity – a brisk walk or a jog – for cardiovascular health to benefit.
Help from diet and supplements
Since an incorrect diet could also contribute to fatigue, it is good to pay attention to what you bring to the table. The diet should be regular, preferably based on light foods rich in vitamins and minerals, and every day you should drink at least two liters of water to adequately hydrate the body and promote its purification.
It may also be useful to resort to mineral salt and vitamin supplements. Among the minerals that can help fight sleep strokes in the spring, magnesium and potassium are excellent choices. At the base of fatigue there may in fact be a magnesium deficiency, whose typical symptoms are fatigue and drowsiness. Even low potassium levels can contribute to the general sense of fatigue. Taking it can help to increase the energy available and to use more efficiently those present in food.
Finally, B vitamins help to have more energy available, while iron helps to regain concentration. Be careful, however: it is better to choose quality and clinically tested products. To be sure to take products suitable for your situation, it is always good to seek advice from your doctor or trusted pharmacist.
