Processing of personal data

Accessing our website
When you access our website, your browser will transfer certain information to our web server. This operation is performed for technical reasons and is necessary to make the requested information available. Furthermore, for the pursuit of our legitimate interests, we will store this information for a limited period of time in order to be able to initiate monitoring of personal data in the event of actual or attempted unauthorized access to our servers (art. 6(1)(f) ) General Data Protection Regulation).

Based on our legitimate interest in improving the services offered, the above-mentioned data will be used to carry out “User Experience” surveys (in anonymous and aggregate form) relating to the use of the Website, as well as to analyze (in anonymous and aggregate form ) statistics relating to navigation and activities on the Website for the purpose of simplifying its use. Furthermore, in order to improve its usability, this site makes use of a technology which, thanks to specific cookies applied to the user’s terminal, allows the user to be traced back, on the basis of his browsing sessions, to a possible type of web browsing style/preferences (obtained according to a probabilistic method) and to automatically organize the display of the editorial and graphic contents of the site in the way best suited to your needs. Registration, login and use of the empower essence  Services (subject to consent)

In order to be able to use certain services of our website, you are required to register an account with us, in relation to which you can determine your personal login credentials, which you will use to access your personal account. For this registration and subsequent login process, we collect the following information about you:

  • Name and surname
  • Genre and title
  • Contact data (e.g. postal/email address or telephone number)
  • Username and password
  • Log of your accesses included. Timestamp
  • Age

We process this personal data in order to provide you with access to the services of our website. This data is deleted if you deactivate your user account.

By creating an account with access to reserved areas, you will be able to use the related features. In particular, in the reserved area you will have the possibility to:

  • Use the “Ask the Expert – New Version” services , which allow you to submit curiosities or questions to doctors or other healthcare professionals who collaborate with Empower Essence for this purpose, who will manage your request and contact you privately to provide feedback. The question and answer exchange with the expert may be published on the Website anonymously, eliminating all data or references that could, even indirectly, identify you.; or of
  • Book specialist medical visits for free via the “Visit me” service , consulting the CVs of the professionals who collaborate with Empower Essence for this purpose, choosing the one closest to you on the basis of a “city search” function within a drop-down menu – in in this context, no data relating to your geolocation will be processed.
  • Take advantage of the “Gyno-chat” service , which offers the possibility of having a free and confidential consultation via chat with a gynecologist, from Monday to Friday in the time slots 10.00-14.00 and 16.00-20.00, without the need to make an appointment.

The use of the Empower Essence Services involves the processing of particular categories of personal data as defined by the art. 9 of the GDPR and, specifically, health data and data relating to your state of health. This processing is subject to your prior consent, issued during registration on the Website. The consent given can always be revoked via the appropriate panel for managing privacy preferences in the reserved area, or by forwarding a request to the Owner at the contacts provided right away.

However, we inform you that in case of refusal to give your consent for these purposes it will not be possible to access the Empower Essence  Services, and in case of revocation of consent, you will no longer be able to use the same Empower Essence Services.

To guarantee full respect for your privacy, while offering the service as Data Controller, Empower Essence will not receive any information on the specialist medical visits booked by you from the Manager who manages the platform.

Empower Essence may only receive reports from the Manager with anonymous data on the number of accesses to the Empower Essence Services, on the types of specialist medical visits most booked and on the geographical area of ​​reference for each type.

Profiling (subject to consent)

If you give us your consent, we will process your personal data to better understand your interests and inform you about our products or services that may be of interest to you (art. 6(1)(a), art. 9(2)(a) ), General Data Protection Regulation). For this purpose, the following categories of personal data will be processed: site page or widget where the first registration takes place; number and type of services used; type of content consulted.

In order to personalize our communications regarding updates to Empower Essence content and services or marketing communications to meet your needs and preferences, we will also document and analyze your responses or observations to individual topics that have been shown to you. Again in order to effectively plan, personalize and direct the communications we will send to you, we will proceed to the collection, reprocessing and storage in a specific Empower Essence  database of personal data relating to you relating to your profile, your interests, your browsing activity as well as the satisfaction shown towards Empower Essence products and services.

Third-party access/single sign on services

Subject to your consent [Art. 6(1)(a) General Data Protection Regulation], we provide you with the possibility to authenticate via the Facebook Connect and Google Login services (hereinafter “Login Service Provider”). To use such services, you will be asked to log in to the login service provider using your login credentials. In this way, your profile will be linked to our service, which means that the access service provider will receive information about your use of our service and we will automatically receive the following information about you:

  • Contact Data (e.g. postal/email address or telephone number)
  • Name and surname; Type

We will use this information for the sole purpose of registration and to identify you during your access. If the login service provider transfers more information about you to us than is necessary for the sole purpose of verifying your login, we will promptly delete this information. We delete your personal data if you delete your user account.

On our website we use a web analysis service from Hotjar Ltd, Levl 2, St Julians Business Center 3, Elia, Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta, Europe ( ” Hotjar” ). Information on side effects and quality complaints

This website is not intended or designed for communications regarding side effects, lack of therapeutic effect, medication errors, gray market products/counterfeit medicines, misuse or off-label use, quality complaints and/or other safety-related issues or the quality of Empower Essence products. However, if you report unwanted side effects or other concerns regarding the safety or quality of Empower Essence products to us, we will be legally obligated to handle your communication and may need to contact you for clarification. We should then inform the relevant health authorities of the problems you have reported. In this context, your information may be forwarded in pseudonymised form, i.e. no information by which you could be directly identified will be passed on. Sections and user feedback

Storage times

The identification and contact data collected together with the creation of a personal account on the Website will be processed for the entire period of activity of your account on the site. If the user remains inactive for a period of 24 months, the user will be deactivated and all data relating to it will be automatically deleted.
The data you provide for the use of the Empower Essence Services will be processed for the time necessary to provide the requested service.
