Body building: men attentive to breasts

There is nothing wrong with practicing body building. But it is always better not to overdo it.

Sculpted musculature is fashionable and liked, no doubt about it. Especially in men, who are always on the hunt for new methods to highlight biceps, pectorals and “turtles”.

Many today rely on gyms and personal trainers, and are especially tired on equipment for muscle strengthening. And, sometimes, there are those who even buy the same tools, or almost, to exercise at home.

In short, the number of bodybuilding enthusiasts is constantly growing in our country. But if it is true that physical exercise is good for everyone, it is equally true that excesses can become harmful.

Especially if to achieve desired results you rely not only on physical exercise, but also on the intake of certain chemicals called “anabolics”.

They inflate muscles, and not only

First of all, it is good that no one has illusions: to have a statuesque body it is not enough to train every day or even stuff yourself with anabolics.

The mass of an individual’s muscles depends largely on his genetic heritage, as well as on training and hormones.

As we all know, muscle mass develops after puberty and more noticeably in males than females. This is due to the fact that male sex hormones (androgens) act by stimulating the growth of muscle tissue, i.e. they have an anabolic effect.

Precisely for this reason compounds similar to male hormones, the so-called anabolic steroids, are today among the most used drugs, and above all abused, to increase muscle mass.

And they have spread widely in gyms and amateurs, especially for aesthetic purposes.

Although many of these substances are potentially dangerous, as well as illicit if used for doping purposes, or to increase performance and physical endurance in competitions.

Indeed, anabolics, coupled with muscle training, make the muscles “swell”, especially the pectorals. But there’s more.

Suspicious bulges

It seems that lately men have also become more susceptible to getting breast cancer which, until a few years ago, was the exclusive prerogative of women.

And what do anabolics have to do with it? It could be that, in addition to stimulating muscle development, anabolics also stimulate the growth of nodules in the pectoral area.

The alarm was raised by a British surgeon who stated that in his experience the cases of breast swelling in men have increased dramatically.

And that, in most cases, these bulges concern men who practice excessive physical activity for aesthetic purposes and who take considerable amounts of anabolic substances.

Even in Italy, compared to the past, there are more cases of breast nodules in males.

Do not underestimate abnormal signs

Nodules that can be caused by excess fat, more general hormonal problems, obesity and disorders of testosterone metabolism. But they are undoubtedly favored by the intake of anabolics.

That is why the use of such substances for aesthetic purposes is highly inadvisable. And anyway, it is good not to neglect any abnormal bulge.

And, at the first suspicion, it is advisable to rely on the doctor to make investigations. In fact, experts guarantee that these nodules are absolutely treatable, as long as they are caught in time.
